B i o g r a p h y
Corey Flowers is a classical guitarist currently based in Athens, Georgia where he completed a DMA in Guitar Performance with a minor in composition. Corey studied under John Sutherland and Phil Snyder while at UGA and maintains a particular interest in 20th century and contemporary repertoire.
As a composer, he is interested in writing solo and chamber works for the guitar that reflect the past while searching for their own voice. Corey has taught with the UGA Community Music School and was the Adjunct Professor of guitar at Truett-McConnell College from 2013-2017, until taking Fall 2017 to travel to Vienna.
In addition to classical guitar pursuits, he also enjoys writing and performing progressive metal music with quartet, Jet Engine Dragons, who release the LP "Ashes of Anthemusa" in June 2017. The 2016-17 season also saw Corey performing with Athens group Beast Mode, performing shows at the Georgia Theatre opening for several international touring artists throughout the year.
